Knucklebean was born at a tiny East Village watering hole in the summer of 2007. The band was larger than the audience that night, but the musicians were undeterred: beautiful, spontaneous music was made. Since then, Knucklebean have spread their improvised gospel all over Manhattan and Brooklyn, and to distant lands, like Queens, but their mission statement remains unchanged. Each time the band convenes, tunes are composed on the spot, turned inside out, and never heard from again.
