"The Invisible Landscape" -a project by drummer/composer Gunter Gruner invites to a journey into regions of darkness and light. Exotic melodies merge with colorful textures and polyrhythmic flows. The group is an experiment that aims at the connection and integration of different musical traditions. Some of the pieces may remind on Jazz, Twelve Tone, Brazilian or Gamelan music. As a kaleidoscope of a multitude of influences "The Invisible Landscape" can be ambivalent and creates impressions that are depending on the listener himself. A central feature of the ensemble is the combination of composition with free improvisations by Daniel Carter - "a legendary master of creative music" (All About Jazz NY). The music mirrors how many of us experience the world today - fragmented, globalized, unified and mechanized.
